My Origin Story

We all walk along a unique path, here is mine. Hi Christine McLellan from William Raveis Real Estate.  

After 30 years in the software and internet business I was looking for a new path. A friend suggested that I get my real estate license and come work w/ him. Without much more thought about it I signed up for a Real Estate Licensing Class with a Groupon. And 2 months later I had my License and was working at a local brokerage. 

I quickly realized that very little of the 40-hour licensing class material was relevant. I was now instantly credentialed to help people with one of their biggest investments: their home. With the excellent guidance of my friend and mentor I did OK. But I felt like a phony the entire time! And I was terrified because I didn’t really know what I was doing!

At this point I started researching ways to become a top professional through advanced education. Over the last 5 years I've taken at least 1,000 hours of real estate educational courses or about 200 hours a year. To put that into perspective I could keep my real estate license current with only 6 hours of continuing education a year.

Along the way I’ve earned various Realtor designations including CRS, PSA, SRS, RENE - the list goes on and on. But what matters is not those acronyms but what they've helped me learn and and how I apply this expertise to helping my clients meet their real estate goals every single day. 

So now I am not only a high performing real estate professional, I hold elite designations to show my commitment to being the absolute best in the industry. I think I’ve come quite a long way from that Groupon.
