Is Real Estate essential?

No. However real estate can continue with guidance from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Since Governor Baker’s Emergency Order of March 23, 2020 the Massachusetts Association of Realtors® (MAR) looked to further clarify what to do about real estate transactions and real estate sales activity. As of 3/25, we have guidance: https://www.marcovid19.com/post/mar-secures-guidance-for-realtors .

1. Real estate transactions can continue. If you are in the middle of a real estate sale, stay in close contact with your Realtor®, Attorney, Lender, Title Company. Be responsive to all requests for info they need. If you are purchasing a home and your job is unfortunately lost or at risk, let your real estate team know right away. If you are not comfortable continuing with a sale, talk to your team. Communication is key right now.

2. Showings and Open Houses can continue with restrictions (see above link), however MAR does not recommend Open Houses. I agree with MAR - it is just too challenging to keep distance and also keep surfaces clean. Home showings can take place - but please take advantage of virtual showings if at all possible. The most important thing right now is reducing risk of COVID-19 spread, so let’s talk about a plan that works for all whether you are looking to buy or sell a home during this time. If you want to take a pause, I am 100% on your side - you are in control. Let’s talk about a plan for the inevitable real estate rush that happens once this passes.

3. Client meetings continue remotely - using video or phone. Anything that needs to be in-person can occur with responsible social distancing. I have easy-to-use tools that make virtual meetings awesome and effective! I am here to help you with your current and future real estate plans! L
